This Friday night

Tomorow night I'm going to be DJing a fashion show at Double Down on Richmond Street from 7 to 10 pm. They're introducing a new consignment program in which you can bring your used articles of clothing and leave them at the store to be sold for you. It should be a good time, with lots of food and drinks... and a great soundtrack. See you there!

This Friday!

This Friday (Jan. 19th), someone will be filling in for my show on CHRW.

Later that night however, my new band, The Knaves will be playing our first live show at The Last Drop (on Talbot Street in London). Also on the bill are locals The Canons and a band from Kitchener called The Machines. Doors open at 9pm. The show starts at 10pm. We take the stage at around 11pm.

The Knaves will be recording some demos in early February, and as soon as they're finished we'll post them on our MySpace page for your listening pleasure. Also, our website - bandofknaves.com - should be up and running by the summer. Stay tuned for more info.

Saturday nights

Tonight at GT's, my friend Jesse makes his debut as one of the regular Saturday night DJ's. You may have been at the club for one of his guest sets on a Thursday. Anyway, he'll be spinning music in the basement from 10pm to 2am, and he plays the same sort of stuff as me. So, it's going to be a great time. If you're looking for somewhere to go out dancing to awesome tunes on a Saturday night, check it out.

Top 10 Countdown

The Program Director at CHRW has asked everyone to count down their top 10 albums of last year on our shows this week. I played songs from my 20 favourite albums of '06 for a couple of shows back in December, but it wasn't really a countdown. So tomorrow's show will start with that, plus I've got lots of brand new rock n' roll lined up for you during the rest of the program.

CHRW on Rogers

I found out about this last week when I was channel surfing, and thought I'd pass the information on. You can now listen to 94.9 CHRW on Rogers Digital Cable (Channel 943). Remember we're the only radio station in London that has live announcers 24/7. The station's format changes with each show, but if you're wondering what's on you can check out the CHRW program guide here. And don't forget to tune in Friday's from 3:30 to 6pm.
